About Us



Learning South West:
- Is an independent charity, which is a cross-sector membership organisation with members such as local authorities, further education colleges, private training providers and voluntary sector organisations.
- Engages in innovative and creative work which reflects emerging trends. Our aim is to catalyse partnership work and projects, which reflect our values and the interests and priorities of our member organisations.
- Facilitates collaborative approaches and delivery of workforce development and accredited professional development in the: children and young people sector; 14-19 sector; and adult learning sector.
- Enables youth participation, primarily through our role in facilitating the UK Youth Parliament in the South West. Learning South West aims to use our experience in youth participation to enable learners of all ages to participate more actively in the process of learning and the reform of learning.
- Develops collaborative partnership bids, and subsequently project manages, region-wide projects whose aim is to improve workforce development or improved participation of young people and all learners in the: children and young people sector; 14-19 sector; and all levels of the adult learning sector.
- Acts as an implementing, and sometimes managing, partner of national consortia with other key regional and national organisations to deliver national-level projects.
