Learning South West is thrilled to be coordinating Adult Learners' Week in the South West for the third year.  

Please do let us know of any events/programmes that you are planning to run around Adult Learners' Week 2011 (14-20 May), so that we can publicise these for you and be able to report on the events the South West as a whole have run.

Adult Learners' Week 2011 Regional Awards Ceremony

Thank you to everyone who as been involved in the activities around the region for this the 20th year of Adult Learners' Week!

Winners and nominees of this years' awards attended the South West Regional Adult Learners' Week Awards Ceremony, held at Ashton Court Mansion in Bristol on 19 May 2011. 

The evening was incredibly inspirational and memorable and made even more so by our guest celebrity, Diane Louise Jordan, who presented the winners and nominees with their certificates.  The Rt. Honourable. The Lord Mayor of Bristol, Councillor Geoff Gollop officially opened the ceremony and guests enjoyed a sit down meal before the awards were presented. South West winners of previous years' awards were also in attendance and were delighted to be able to speak about what they have done since winning and also what the award meant to them.

Congratulations to all the South West winners and nominees on your achievements and thank you for sharing your learning  journeys with us.

Thank you to everyone in the region who has run events and got involved with Adult Learners' Week 2011.

The Regional Awards Ceremony was a fantastic evening of celebrations for nominees and winners of awards and was a truly memorable evening.  Thank you to all involved.

Run a taster session or open event to showcase the learning opportunities you provide. There are a range of supporting resources, and a free Online Events Diary to publicise your activity through the national helpline.

Please register your event on the Online Calendar at www.alw.org.uk for free publicity both regionally and nationally.

Please also let Naomi Harris at Learning South West know, so we can publicise your event on our website and include your event details in our regional report.

Breaking News 01/02/2011

The 20th year of Adult Learners' Week is here, nominations have been received and the deadline passed for submission of nominations.  Nominations will now go through a shortlisting stage, during which the regional and national winners will be decided.  Winners will be notified by the end of March 2011.
