Adult Learners' Week 2012
The Adult Learners’ Week Awards recognise outstanding adult learners and inspiring learning projects and Learning South West is thrilled to have coordinated Adult Learners' Week in the South West for a fourth year.
There were over 295 events/taster sessions happening across the South West during Adult Learners' Week. Many thanks to those who ran and supported these wonderful events encouraging people to try a new skill or learn something new.
We had a fantastic number of Adult Learners nominations in the South West, 123 Outstanding Individual Learner nominations and 23 Inspiring Learning Projects nominations and had 3 National Winners and 6 Regional Winners from the South West. Click here to read their amazing stories.
On Thursday 17th May, 150 people including Nominators, Nominees and Winners attended the South West Adult Learners' Week Ceremony on Weston Pier to celebrate their achievements. It was a fabulous evening and truly inspirational! All the South West Regional and National Winners attended and they and the South West Nominees mounted the stage to collect their certificates from our celebrity speaker Cheryl Baker. Cheryl did a speech and made everyone laugh and even gave us a rendition of 'Making your mind up'
