Adult Learners' Week 2012

The Adult Learners’ Week Awards recognise outstanding adult learners and inspiring learning projects and Learning South West is thrilled to be coordinating Adult Learners' Week in the South West for a fourth year.

Following nominations for Adult Learners' Week - winners have now been selected. We had a fantastic number of nominations in the South West and on Thursday 17th May, 150 people including Nominators, Nominees and Winners will be attending the South West Adult Learners' Week Ceremony on Weston Pier to celebrate their achievements. A big thank you to our Headline sponsor OCN South West whose sponsorship has helped towards making the evening a very special occassion.
The National Award Ceremony is being held in London on 14th May 2012, special awards will be presented to winners, these include:
European Social Fund (ESF) Awards - recognising learning that has improved skills and employability as part of an ESF-funded learning programme.
Apprentice of the Year Award (sponsored by Pearson) - recognising learning through an apprenticeship programme.
Digital Participation Award (sponsored by the BBC) - recognising learning where the use of new technology and/or broadcasting has been central to learning opportunities.
Learning Where You Are Award (sponsored by the Open University) - recognising outstanding and inspiring projects that have worked with their learners to provide original, innovative and creative ways to engage and support learners in challenging contexts throughout their learning journey.
Learning Works Awards - recognising learning that has improved the learners’ prospects in their current job, or has helped them to secure a new job as a result of their learning.
Learning Through Craft Award - recognising learning where the use of craft has been central to learning opportunities.
