FUNDING WITH DEADLINES

NESA Youth Arts works in partnership with young people, and Bath and North East Somerset Youth and Community Service to provide cutting edge participatory arts practice.
COUNCIL FOR DISABLED CHILDREN INNOVATION AND SUSTAINIBILITY PROGRAMME – applications are being sought from not-for-profit organisations for this programme, which is part of CDC's work as Strategic Partner to the Department for Education. The programme is intended to support the development of capacity building and sustainability across the voluntary and community sector. In the programme CDC is supporting up to 19 projects totalling £180,000, made up of:
- Seven projects of £5,000
- Seven projects of £10,000
- Five projects of £15,000
This programme is available to use to:
- Help improve their sustainability
- Increase the participation of disabled children and young people and those with special educational needs (SEN)
- Support innovative work which leads to better sustainability
From this programme CDC hopes to support the building of sustainability across the whole voluntary and community sector as well as learn more about how local voluntary and community sector organisations can use different models to operate in financially difficult times. STARBUCKS YOUTH ACTION - There are just under 6 weeks to go until applications close for the second year of Starbucks Youth Action! The deadline is 9am, Monday 5 March.
Young people can apply for grants of up to £2000 plus training and support from UK Youth, Starbucks volunteers, and their local MPs or councillors. The deadline is 9am, Monday 5th March.
If you know of anyone aged 16-24 who could use some cash and support to run a project in their local area, please do encourage them to apply! If you could forward the information to all of your contacts that would be fantastic. Please note the cities the programme works in are: London, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester and Leeds.
AWARDS FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS: grants for talented musicians - notice of forthcoming application deadline (23rd March 2012)
The charity Awards for Young Musicians (AYM) supports the UK's most talented young instrumentalists aged five to 17 years of age who, because of financial need, may be prevented from fulfilling their creative potential. The charity assists musically-gifted children in families, where income is limited, to help develop potential.
Grants of between £200 and £2,000 are available, based on evidence of musical talent and financial need.
Award payments are made to institutions, music organisations, music teachers and other suppliers. Awards are not made directly to students or their families. All applications are means tested.
Previous applicants (successful or otherwise) are welcome to apply again.
AYM aims to help with many of the major costs of music education. Awards are made in the following categories:
- Private music lessons.
- Fees for specialist music schools/Junior Departments of the music colleges, Saturday music schools.
- Instrument purchase or hire.
- Fees for special courses, e.g. orchestras, chamber music ensembles etc.
- Travel to lessons/courses.
- Accessories, e.g. strings, reeds, cases, mouthpieces, sheet music etc.

SANCTUARY HOUSING have launched The Grand Ideas Fund which will offer up to £1,000 to community groups which need some financial support to help deliver activities within their local community.
Totalling £60,000 for projects all across the UK, the funding scheme is now open for applications from charities, resident groups and voluntary organisations.
The £1,000 could go towards anything – from a healthy eating project, to training opportunities, or materials for a fun day event. The important thing is that the project helps people and neighbourhoods to flourish. Closing date is 31 March 2012. More information here (Posted 17/10/11)
COMIC RELIEF announces dates of 2012 UK grants programme. Comic Relief has announced that its UK grants programme is due to re-open for applications on the 29th June 2012. Through its UK grants programme voluntary and community based organizations can apply for grants to a number of different funding schemes. These include:
- Mental health
- Domestic and sexual abuse
- Refugee and asylum seeking women
- Sport for Change
- Young People aged 11 – 25 that are sexually exploited
- Suffer from alcohol abuse
- Suffer from mental health problems.

ARTS FUNDING - Bath & North East Somerset Council has the following funding scheme to support arts events and activities taking place in the district.
Cultural Olympiad Arts Project Funding: Micro Grants Scheme - awarded quarterly for sums of £500 only
Between June 2011 and March 2013, these £500 grants are available for arts projects or activities which:
- Support and contribute to the Olympics values and themes
- Take place between 1 August 2011 and 31 March 2013
There is no fixed deadline: you can apply at any time between May 2011 and 31 December 2012. Grants applications are assessed and awarded quarterly
