Marilyn Hartwell
Marilyn Hartwell has over twenty years experience as a teacher and trainer and ten years experience of helping organisations on a freelance basis. She holds a masters degree in education and is an accredited inspector.
Marilyn’s experience includes:
- research and evaluation, including helping providers to carry out their own action-oriented research
- developing innovative teaching and learning resources in multi-media formats
- facilitation of staff involvement in self-assessment and action planning
- design and delivery of training for staff in learning providers, especially in the areas of teaching and learning, quality improvement and equality and diversity
- facilitation of networks and communities of practice.
Marilyn has particular expertise in:
- ICT, both as a subject in its own right and as a tool for teaching and learning.
- embedding Skills for Life, especially in vocational learning
Marilyn's recent projects include:
• development of a ‘pedagogic tool’ for QIA that will be used to set the standard for all future learning resources that it produces
• author of a practical guide on Skills for Life in work-based learning, published by the Skills for Life Strategy Unit
• training staff who train apprentices at Kimberly-Clark and other leading employers.
• development of a skills audit for Train to Gain skills brokers, for Learning South West
• action research to increase SME involvement in Skills for Life, for Learning South West
