Learning South West believes that learning is a transforming experience which is vital if individuals, groups, organisations, and the South West Region are to fulfil their potential.

The South West region is changing fast due to:

globalisation
the growing importance of technology
the challenges of environmental degradation and global warming
a growing and increasingly diverse population, with growing numbers of older people and international migrant workers.

 Given this dynamic environment, we believe that learning to learn and to be adaptable and flexible is critical to ensuring sustainable development.

We must continually innovate and challenge existing ways of working if we are to ensure learning is about creating the future society we desire rather than perpetuating the society we already have.   This will require us to unlock the potential value offered by increasing the diversity of our organisations and society and the active lifelong participation of practitioners, young people and all learners in the process of change.
