Voice and Influence - Other Voice Matters
YOUNG PEOPLE AND DYSLEXIA (OPPORTUNITY) - The BBC are making a documentary about dyslexia and they are missing an important part of the story - a young person who has left school and is currently not in education, employment or training. They would like to speak to people between 16-25yrs who would be willing to share their views on dyslexia and their experience. This would be for research purposes over the phone initially, but the BBC hopes to find someone who would want to be involved in a short piece of filming. They might even be able to work in a sequence about the support they currently receive if it was appropriate. To get involved, please get in touch with Ayesha Tariq this week on 0207 765 0837 or ayesha.tariq@bbc.co.uk. (Posted 27/8/10)

A MESSAGE FROM NIGEL MANSELL OBE - Young people in the UK are having a tough time in the recession with over one million not in employment, education or training. I expect you know someone in this position yourself. Together with my own sons and a number of supporters I am cycling 1,200 miles around the UK between 22nd July and 3rd August to promote 'Positive about Youth', a campaign that enables everyone in the UK to show young people that we care about them and that we will work with them to address this issue. Will you please help us by reading the attached message and register your own support by texting 'Youth' to 84025*. And please do look out for me on my route and join me at one of the many events that we have planned! See here for full information. Thank you very much for your support. (Posted 19/7/10)
